I have now officially joined the white stiletto club (no platform please – those are so out) yay to me. Ever since finding these beauties in the 5-floor Topshop store in Oxford Street amongst the sea of hipster studded tops and high waisted rose-printed shorts, I’ve been trying to find an occasion to wear them in the grim Costa Del Sol weather…
“To the polo? It’s too rainy.”
“To the hairdressers? Do I really want these god blessed white beauties worthy of an angel to be premiered in front of the people who cut the tips of my hair once a month? I don’t think so.”
“To the supermarket? I’m not really feeling in the Anna Dello Russo mood today, thank you.”
My mother’s birthday dinner in the lovely Marbella Club Grill, however, turned out to be the ideal occasion to parade my new finds in front of dozens of well-dressed people.
After having thought about it for a long time, combining these beauties with a dress looked almost too cliché and mainstream, so I ultimately decided upon quite a risky – for the area where I live anyways – elegant and almost masculine outfit, comprised of a black blazer and white shirt with maybe a little bit more décolletage than needed, and my favourite navy grayish blue jeans with a side leather stripe.
Anyhow, after discovering how comfortable they were on top of being absolutely gorgeous and wearable with almost anything, I’m already planning on how to wear them in Paris this summer.
I have a new spring staple! What’s yours?
